So let’s see

What is Brainy Stars Educational System @ Pre foundation level

To understand brainy Stars education system let us first see what is the difference between conventional system and Montessori system of education.

Conventional system

Teacher Centric

The teacher is the main focus in the classroom.

The teacher will tell the child what to do, how to do and when to do.

Montessori system

Child centric

The child is the main focus .

Here the child learns through exploration and discoveries and through hands on learning.

In Montessori  the teacher is just a facilitator and a guide.

Difference between Montessori and Brainy Stars Educational Approach

The Biggest difference or uniqueness of Brainy Stars Educational Approach is we have integrated Values with Montessori Methodology.

BRAINY STARS EDUCATIONAL APPROACH

Hands on learning

Mixed age classroom

Hands on learning

Prepared environment

Freedom with Discipline

HANDS ON LEARNING

HANDS ON LEARNING

It has been discovered by many researcher’s that children love to move around, they can hardly keep still. So instead of forcing them to sit in a place and having a teacher to tell them what to do or what not to do, instead we at brainy stars are using a well designed and very specific set of material for children to work with it.

When you enter a brainy stars class room, you can see all the materials displayed in such a way that children are able to reach the material easily and are able to explore and learn through these materials

You can see children learning through various materials instead of just memorization.

So child in this kind of class room will learn addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, reading , writing etc by working with the various materials. Through hands on learning the child can learn much more than what the teacher can actually explain to them, this kind of learning sets the foundation in the child because they actually understand, as they are not using the abstract way of learning, but rather are using the concrete way of learning which gives them the full understanding of the concept.

The researcher’s have proved that there is a connection between the hand and the mind. It’s like there is a connection between the movement and the cognition.

MIXED AGE CLASSROOM

WHAT IS MIXED AGE CLASSROOM?

Children from age group 2 yrs to 6 yrs in one classroom.

The young children will learn a lot through observing the older ones working with the material.

At brainy stars we have mixed age class room to promote brotherhood at different age groups and religions.

HOLISTIC LEARNING

HOLISTIC LEARNING

At brainy Stars we focus on the child as a whole, we just don’t focus on academics, but in addition to Academics like Math, language, and cultural children also learn practical skills of life which helps the children to become independent, confident and more responsible.

PREPARED ENVIRONMENT

PREPARED ENVIRONMENT

Our classrooms are designed to offer lessons, activities, and tools that match the developmental needs and interests of each individual child.

In our class rooms you will  see five  different areas / environments:

01
Exercise of practical life
02
Sensorial
03
Math
04
Language
05
Cultural

FREEDOM WITH DISCIPLINE

FREEDOM WITH DISCIPLINE

Children from age group 2 yrs to 6 yrs in one classroom.

The young children will learn a lot through observing the older ones working with the material.

At brainy stars we have mixed age class room to promote brotherhood at different age groups and religions.

When you enter a our classrooms  you will see

Free movement  of children within the class room

No misuse of material

No chaos in class room

No material is thrown around

Do you know Why is this so?

Its all because of the freedom with Discipline

The freedom is given to the child to choose any material that they like  but there is a rule  with it, saying you can use these materials but once you finish working with it  you have to place it back in its position so that others can use it. And  you have to use it in a proper way.

Similarly the children are able to move around in the classroom, but there is a ground rule in place  for that saying : yes you can move around but cant  run, you cannot disturb others who are working. There is special awareness that is taught them while the child is moving around in the class room. So that’s why you don’t see any chaos in the Montessori class room.

Similarly the child has freedom to choose the material which he wants to work with from the options given by the teacher, they have freedom to choose the environment in which they want to work, they have freedom to work with the material on floor or on a table, they have the freedom to work with the material as many times as they want to work with.

So all this freedom comes within the limits that is what, which makes Montessori successful.  And the freedom what we give to the children will also entrust them the responsibility to use the freedom wisely.

Observe And Follow

The  most important element of Brainy Stars Educational approach is an idea, the idea in which we  observe and follow  the child, and see what actually  interest’s Child,  instead of going of our “gut”  or the way things have been done just like in  traditional school / traditional system of education.

Real time is spent  in observing the children,  getting to know them (children)

No unnecessary aid/ help is provide to children

Teacher can find the actual need of the child through observation.

EXERCISE OF PRACTICAL LIFE

EPL- Exercise of practical life

All  EPL Activities are designed in such  way that  it  helps to develop independence , confidence,  eye and hand co-ordination and  control of movements  (3 fingers grips, hold hand grips, wrist and arm movement etc.)

Young children’s like to be, like us “ as adults: and would love to do things which we  do, like Taking care of  ourselves and our environment .

“Never help the child with a task at which he feels he can succeed”

Many normal school don’t allow for this kind of independence building., they do everything for the child, but not without a price.

The price is that the  children from these kind of backgrounds will always be confused and have break down from time to time. They lack confidence in their personal and professional life.

SENSORIAL

As you all know that the child from birth to 6 years  have a very sensorial relationship within the world. Children use all of their senses from sight to taste , to touch, to smell, to feel  they use all of their 5 senses in  their environment. Anything that comes into  their senses goes record to their brain. The materials  of the sensorial area in Montessori class room is allowing a child to refine all their five sense with the help of various activities

Example: Brown Stairs
